Make Apache httpd 2.2.8 in Fedora 8 64bit Failed - libexpat

Monday, January 28th, 2008

For whatever reason, you may need to build the Apache httpd from source. Build apache from source file is among the easiest one if you are talking about LAMP. But that’s not the case if you’re building on a 64bit machine. Most probably you’ll get the following message:

/usr/lib/libexpat.so: could not read symbols: File in wrong format
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[3]: *** [libaprutil-1.la] Error 1
make[3]: Leaving directory `/Install/httpd-2.2.8/srclib/apr-util’
make[2]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/Install/httpd-2.2.8/srclib/apr-util’
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/Install/httpd-2.2.8/srclib’
make: *** [all-recursive] Error 1

The main reason is they don’t like expatriate. No, seriously the main culprit is the /usr/lib/libexpat.so: could not read symbols: File in wrong format. The quick fix is quite simple, just use the internal libexpat by adding –with-expat=builtin when configuring the build.

./configure --prefix=/usr/local/apache2 --enable-module=so --enable-mods-shared=most --with-expat=builtin

The Most Commentator Not Friendly Wordpress Plug In - Easy Math

Sunday, January 13th, 2008

Sorry, it seems you didn’t pass math!!

0 + 4 = 4 : Sorry, it seems you didn’t pass math!!
0 + 9 = 9 : Sorry, it seems you didn’t pass math!!
4 + 8 = 12 : Sorry, it seems you didn’t pass math!!
1 + 4 = 5 : Sorry, it seems you didn’t pass math!!

For whatsoever reason, this plugin is very annoying to ME. Especially on those website that doesn’t use ajax for comment but use this plug in simply because it break the rule of usability and not back button friendly. I tried or I really am suck at math. I have a video recording, but at very poor quality, even worse than Chua Soy Lek sex video. Even though both in the same 3gp format, mine sucks. But if you insist, I will provide (for what!?).

Sorry, it seems you didn’t pass math!!Sorry, it seems you didn’t pass math!!Sorry, it seems you didn’t pass math!!

Anakku

Is the name we choose for our son. I know its quite a long name, combine with my name which comprises of 11 characters including space make it even longer. Pity him when filling forms later on. But its the name his mother love and I absolutely have no objection. Enjoy the pictures of him :-) More pictures of him at fotopages.

It Has Been Almost Two Weeks

Tuesday, November 13th, 2007

since last update. A lot of thing happens lately, especially since Ramadhan, a lot of works need be done as well, so loads of them that make me feel guilty if I spend some time to update this site. Spent last weekend in JB, partly because of work, attending Haji Wan Ngah family gathering at johor state secretary house, sunday night arrived at KL, and now 2:45am at Hotel Sahara Inn for the next five days. My wife already in her third trimester of pregnancy, expected to due in about two weeks. Hopefully that not happen during my outstation. It’s common to deliver earlier than EDD for second child.

Took thousands of pictures since last update, one of them is this. Nothing really interesting, it just so kesian with these katak who’s tengah mengawan (unless they’re siamese twin), for hours they stuck together and for hours jugaklah they’ve been poked at, thrown with pebble stone, booed and et cetera by the kids who’s innocently don’t knpw what’s the katak doing and the adult, don’t know how to explain. Kesian, nak buat anak pun susah (again, if they are not twin).

PRTM - P Ramlee The Musical Sold Out. Oh Really?

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

P Ramlee The Musical Ticket

Apparently not, the picture above taken this evening at Istana Budaya ticket counter. It is still available today which mean it is still available last day, and the day before and last week. And not only had the expensive ticket left. The crossed lines read RM50 and RM30 ticket which just sold out. I am not a theater freak, heck the only theater I ever watched was PGLtM (which the review never finished). Having watched PGLtM previously, a production from Tiara and Infinity Production, I really want to watch this one as well. As I am an IT person (of which suppose to know EVERY single thing about IT), I used ticket2u service trying to purchase the tickets, sadly sold out. Read the ad in the newspaper and TV, stated sold out. So sad. May be not our rezki and hopefully there will be encore season for PRTM, just like PGLtM. I never though of going to ask at the counter, as I honestly believed what they said.

Last day my Boss told me he managed to get the ticket, not even have to book. Just walk in at the counter. The person in front of him manages to get RM80.00 ticket. So he advised me to try asking at the counter. Went to IB, before I reach the counter, there is a display, as above picture. My boss was right. The ticket is actually still available. But damn, I’m going back to hometown this weekend and this Saturday is wedding day for masalapang which I promised to attend. Have to wait for encore after all :-(

Lesson to be learn here, next time don’t wait until last minute, good thing won’t last and don’t simply believe what people say.

Google PR Updated, Mine Still 7

Saturday, October 27th, 2007

Cincin Perkahwinan

Mine is still 7 more points to 10 huhuuu.. PR3. Congratulations to those who manage to get their PR increased, such as kucau, azwanhadzree.com and tebaboom.org, and the list goes on. For those whose PR dropped, worry not, as many probloggers even the most promintent one suggests that PR means nothing. Not to me though.

This is obviously a filler post. Pardon me. Busy and sick. Pictures posted in this entry are from my officemate wedding. Congratulations to masalapang :-)

One quick tip on photography though, for those who are eyeing for EOS 30D for quite sometimes, now is the best time to get one. Many current users ditching theirs, upgrading to the latest poison from Canon, the EOS 40D.

Top Commentators Cloud

Just upgraded, ok ok, not really upgrade but add a new feature to the top commentator plugin for wordpress. Not a newly created plugin, previously i add a gravatar support to the top commentator plugin, and it has been a while thinking to add another option the plugin, cloud. The idea has been in ‘just an idea’ state until about an hour ago where I finally code it. Maybe the air at the Universiti Cikgu Cikgu stimulate me or just because I was boring with the documents and got nothing else to do. It displays just like tags or categories cloud. Cloud exposes the higher commentator more than ever before, differentiated by the size and the color of the font. Now the plugin support:

1. Normal list
2. With Gravatar
3. Cloud

For cloud, the new options you have are:

New Gadget: Canon EF 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 II USM Review

izzi pizza

In Tamron price list entry, I mentioned about hunting for all-rounder lens, either 18-200mm or 28-300mm. There’s 2 willing sellers I found. One selling 28-300mm Tamron and the other one selling 18-200mm Canon. But I’m not a willing buyer due to the price and offering was beyond what I can afford. Luckily, I found another seller selling Canon EF 28-105mm II USM. This lens maybe not as all rounder as 28-300 but it supposed to produced better image, and most importantly I can afford it and the package offered was quite good.

(Above) This shot was taken at Izzi Pizza. This is the second time for me. Though the pizza word is in the restaurant name, it does sell only pizza. The food varieties are very broad and all of them taste so good. If someone knock your door selling izzi pizza voucher, bought them. You won’t regret buying it. And you can enjoy free valet parking too ;-)

More sample shots taken using Canon EF 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 II USM mounted on EOS 350D after the jump.
