Today’s task is to complete the server operation system, apache, php and oracle client for our project.
Installing in VMWare to test the installation, CDs are for 64 bit, while mine is 32. Had to download, the ISO size 3.5GB
Server was sent to server room - had to pick it up. It is 26kg in weight, and need to hand carry
Server is 64 bit afterall, continue the installation without much hassle, or no hassle at all apart from changing CDs for 7 times
Then come Oracle Instant Client turn, Download the latest version 11.1.0.1
Install everything using RPM, smooth installation
Configure LD_LIBRARY_PATH and TNS_ADMIN
Configure samba, transfer tnsnames.ora
Run sqlplus, a big success. Alhamdulillah
Configure odbc.ini, run isql - kanina - undefined symbol: SQLGetPrivateProfileStringW
Don’t search anymore, the caused on the problem is libaio1 in CentOS 5 is outdated :-O w00t woot wat wekkk wukkk kaboommm
Okay okay, the solution is there as this is not the first time I encounter this, downgrade the instant client
Download 10.2.0.3 - But— damnn… kanina again… No ODBC for 10.2.0.3 for x64
11.1.0.1 - OS lib outdated. 10.2.0.3, ODBC driver not offered. kabooommmmmmm
Download new Distro, Fedora Core 8, 3.6GB of DVD ISO. Where got DVD burner bai… kaboommm….
While wating for FC8 download to complete, about DVD burner I’ll find the solution later, Proceed with back end software deployment.

byk nya kanina kau. aku tak pernah install os from scratch lagi. selalunya, hp engineers yang akan setup OS part. aku install DB, s/w engine and application sahaja. dan odbc tu pun selalu jadi masalah bagi aku.
install os skang banyak yg dah senang, dah tak macam dulu… next next next jerr… as long as you know what you are doing then ok….
masalah part oracle tuh pening kepala betull.. sblm nih dah sukses tp field name truncate jadik 15, skang langsung x support pulak… alahai sungguh,..
nak install sahaja memang senang, nak fine tune and setup tu yg byk masalah.
64 bit.. tu la lain kali beli AMD.. wei da complete ke.. fuhh agj agaknye bape ratus ribu projek tu yer.. kayo kayo!!!
pilihan yang ada skang nih angkat dell workstation with 64bit cpu. lgpun skang aku kena main2 dgn 3ds max pulak… pulakk….
